Here is some of our work

Capablue the TV everywhere specialists, has published the first in a series of how-to guides on TV Everywhere and how to launch profitable cloud TV services.

What exactly is TV Everywhere? What are its advantages and challenges, and who can benefit from it? To fill in these gaps, we’ve put together our vision paper entitled ‘How to build TV Everywhere services’, to offer a how-to guide for TV operators and content owners interested in building successful TV Everywhere services. In the first of the series we focus on what TV Everywhere actually means, and why it matters.

“The one-to-one nature of connected services means enterprises can improve direct customer engagement, deliver a personalised consumer experience and generate increased revenue.”

Tom Cape, ‎CEO at Capablue

We designed and delivered the brand new BFI Player.
The audience can explore over 1,000 items of content available in high-definition, many in contextualised UIs, offering deep exploration of film content.

Building on our Connected platform, Capablue provided the BFI Player with account management and commerce solutions, making it easy for the audience to search for, buy and watch their favourite films.

“Capablue’s experience in the field certainly shone through,
and their knowledge and skill-set made
the development process easy and exciting.”

Edward Humphrey, Digital Director BFI

UKTV audiences now have access to unique digital content and hours of catch-up programming as a result of the bespoke VoD services we built for its three free-to-air channels – Dave, Yesterday and Really.

Working closely and collaboratively with UKTV, we designed, developed and implemented the curated services

which provide viewers with a mix of popular catch-up and archive material.

Based on our Connected platform and framework, each white-labelled service has been branded to the individual channel’s look and feel and can be accessed on the desktop and on a mobile device.

"Capablue were pro-active, agile and flexible in their approach at each stage of the project and are a great partner to work with."

Julia Jordan Executive Director
Business and Operations at UKTV

Using our Connected platform and framework we designed and built a full service VoD solution to extend the reach of the Curzon brand outside the traditional cinema. The Curzon on Demand app for Samsung Smart TVs brings a wealth of films directly into the living room and makes selected new releases available to view simultaneously in the cinema or in the home.

Working closely with Curzon, we developed an app that is customised exactly to the Cinema chain’s look and feel and places the viewer at the heart of the experience with intuitive search and navigation. The solution is not just restricted to the TV however; viewers are able to access Curzon on Demand’s portfolio of independent and international films on any device.

“Being able to watch a movie from the comfort of your living room, simultaneous to its cinema release is a truly unique offering that Capablue has helped us achieve.”

Leo Brend
Director of Technology at Curzon

Working in partnership with UK broadcaster Channel 4 we created an interactive advertising application which uses the second screen to provide a more sophisticated and less intrusive way of showing TV ads and interacting with viewers.

When a viewer is watching a Channel 4 programme,on TV whilst also having a ‘companion app’ open on their tablet or smartphone

a non-intrusive overlay will appear on the app. The user can choose to engage and interact with this overlay which will enable them to register for a discount, play along with games, buy directly or share with social media networks.

Using our Connected platform and framework, we developed a plug in solution that uses audio watermarking to synchronise with linear broadcast.

"We wanted to create this proof of concept to highlight to the industry the potential of future advertising formats, and we knew Capablue had the right expertise to make it work. “

Carl Read
Digital Leader at Channel 4

We designed and developed the innovative video-centric app for Samsung TV owners. On the homepage, users will find the latest hits in the NOW Top 20 chart in a browsable playlist as well as the latest news, interviews, videos and featured video playlists from the biggest artists around.

Away from the homepage the service presents 4 main sections: Recommended, Search, Discover and avourites, enabling users to search, browse and compile playlists of their video content all curated by NOW.

"What really shone through for us was Capablue’s extensive knowledge of the platform, and ability to quickly and efficiently create an extremely high quality app that allows viewers to discover and engage with the NOW brand. "
